Yes, its unencapsulated, found in lamina propria and submucosa of small intestine. It has M cells that take up antigen. ___________________ "If He takes you to it, He'll take you through it."

Peyer's patches , known as aggregated lymphatic follicles. They are similar to the tonsils and are found throughout the body, especially in the mucous linings of the digestive and respiratory tracts. ___________________ "Read Repeat Recall Remember Recognise & Reproduce"
As for their location in their GI tract, Peyer's patches are found in the ileum and the colon.

I agree with Sakaki. I'd say Ileum, too. Don't know about colon.
How about Brunner's glands? They are found in the submucosa of the duodenum, right? Last part of duodenum???? ___________________ La vita e bella!

Yes you are rite bela, brunners glands secrete alkaline mucus, and are located in submucoase of duodenum. Duodenal ulcers cause hypertrophy of these glands ___________________ "If He takes you to it, He'll take you through it."

Brunner's glands are located throughout the entire duodenum, and we can use them as a histologic feature to identify the duodenum (not just the "last part of the duodenum").

Thnx sakaki for the clarification
And hey, I looked up peyer's patches in FA and they're saying Small Intestine only (ILEUM as I recall from a test q). So, I don't think u see them in the colon. :? ___________________ La vita e bella!

Yeah, you're right, rida and Bela. My mistake; they're just called lymphoid follicles in the colon. :/

Watch out! Lymphoid follicles have not the same organization than Peyer's patches. Peyer patches are bigger, made by several lymphoid follicles.
