Dear bodyofwork, It seems that you have several miss conceptions that must be straighten up. First of all Kaplan is a private review course and not the organization that makes the USMLE exams. Kaplan's Q book is just a book with 850 Qs which you can use to practice solving MCQ questions. No, I do not know anyone who has used this book alone. You can take the exam in many places around the world but surely not in All countries. You can check the location at prometric's site. Google prometric. -------------------- Personal advice: Check out http://ecfmg.org/ and http://nbme.org/ buy First for USMLE step 1 and read the first chapter of the book ... read the first chapter of Kaplan Q book ... and try to educate your self a little bit more about this exam...

No my friend, this is not like medical school exams where most MCQs are provided in a small booklet and the professor chooses from them for each exam. There is no such book out there. If there was one the whole exam would be useless. This is an America Medical Board not a quiz at a mediocre school. Some people do good on the exam studying a couple of books and other are better off reading a review book for each subject presented on the exam. There are many good sources out there for MCQs that you can use. They are similar to and represent the type of Qs that you will see on the exam. Yes, every exam is different but there might be similarities and a couple of repeated Qs from other guys' exams.
