hi to everybody.I had my exam scheduled for 29th may and i took nbme form 3 on 19th may.I scored 430 on it equal to 201 (81% step 1 score)and after that postponed the exam.I am an IMG and i guess i will be needing a score in 90's in order to get a residency. How long does it take to improve one's score by such a big margin and what should i be doing in this time?I have already dne 3 reviews of kaplan course,1 review of FA and kaplan q banks.Should i do uworld and one more review and then take nbme again and then schedule the exam? Please advice me as to how i should proceed and if u know of any people who managed to improve their nbme scores frm 80s to 90s then let me know.Feeling very very low after the nbme score.

81 % in downloaded NBME = 40 on each block. = Thats pretty good going. I think u shud have ur corresponding USMLE 2-digit Score in the 90's.

U r in pretty good shape acc to me.

Yeah no one has repented doing UW before taking the real test.

USMLE 2 digit score is not % or %ile

Its a 2 digit score.. thats it...

So yeah u can do UW Qbank in abt 10 days and then take the next assessment exam...

Kalyann, for McQuirky to know that his score was 430 according to the way NBME scores means that he took it online. This 430 correlates to a 201 (81) on the real exam. He never mentioned that he was scoring 81% on the downloaded version of the NBME.

its not kalyaan's mistake...........I initially wrote 81% nbme score by accident instead of writing that this was a correlated step 1 score to 430 of nbme.and then i edited my original post so that other people wuld be able to advice me better as 430 on nbme is pretty low.

Thanks for the clarification , McQuirky.

McDreamy is more than glad with that.

Cos i wont tell anyone anything without researching it big time..............so that ppl can count on me.
