hi guys could any one tell me is it okay if i were to prepare from swanson's family practice. i know that people use that for step 3, but as i go through that, it is indeed good for step 2 topics also, with what many questions and answers help you retaining what you have read. has anyone used the same book, along with kaplan step 2 materials? any help and advice is veymuch appreciated. thanks in advance........ vysee

I'm in the same dilemma as well. However, I decided not to use it because the material is too in depth for Step 2, I feel (compared to the question depth from NMS Step 2 and Pretest Clinical Vignettes for Step 2). Plus, I've read reviews that it is outdated, and has 1 error per 4 pages.

Read Swanson's for Step 2. Had no money to buy books for each individual subject, so i decided to study with Swanson's serving as resource for each of the subjects. I recommend it. Though it is a bit outdated, it did wonders for me. I read Crush Step 2, NMS, UCV, FA, and of course, Swanson's. Got 99. But if you have time to spare and can afford books for each subject, i think Blueprints series would be better. Good luck on review! Bado

Hi, I really dont know, havent read it. But from what I hear, I think Blueprints psychiatry is a good book. Come to think of it, I think the only two good books in psychiatry are Kaplan notes and Blueprints.
