Immigrant, 55y, never immunized before, do not remember childhood infections:
What to do now:
A. Pneumococcus
B. MMR
C. Hep B
D. Td
E. Varicella

  #2

Td

  #3

can you give little more detail

everybody can do it.... its just matter of time

  #4

DRhouse: that is it - no more details!

Hero: why not MMR and Varicella? All are bad in adults.

  #5

Td is more cost-effective. MMR is for high-risk, ex: HIV-positive patient with CD > 200.

Hero: Please, refer CDC link or another source.

http://www.immunize.org/catg.d/p4030.pdf
http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/recs/schedules/default.htm

1.Tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Td/Tdap) vaccination
Tdap should replace a single dose of Td for adults aged <65 years
who have not previously received a dose of Tdap.

3.Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccination
Measles component: adults born before 1957 can be considered
immune to measles. Adults born during or after 1957 should receive
>1 dose of MMR unless they have a medical contraindication,
>1 dose, history of measles based on health-care
documentation of
provider diagnosis, or laboratory evidence of immunity.

55y = 1953 < (before) 1957

4.Varicella vaccination
All adults without evidence of immunity to varicella should receive
2 doses of single-antigen varicella vaccine unless they have a medical
contraindication.

IT LOOKS LIKE ALL 3 ARE GOOD HERE??
