Hi guys.
How are the breaks scheduled on Test day? Can a candidate choose her/his breaks like on the other Steps?
Thanks for the info.
P.S. Also how about meals/food. I've read that they provide eats. But, are we reqd/allowed to take our own food as well. Am not trying to sound greedy or hungry, but what food do they provide? coz I'm a vegetarian. Do they cater to people like me?

i got a break between my 5th and 6th case...everyone got breaks at the same time...no choice
they did give food and had vegetarian options (no vegan though) but I took my own food...and they were fine with that
this was LA...

How long is the break? And, is that one b/w 5th and 6th cases the only break? Or is there another one later?

is that a subtle hint at telling me that I shouldnt be here from next mnth ...I dont know man, but I think I'll stick around longer than that....
i think the break was 30 min, not sure though and that was the only break i remember...but again not very sure

there are 2 breaks paheli
1st one after 5 cases of 30min duration
then after 4 more cases i.e after 9th case of 15min
during 1st break they give some eatables like meatballs,rice,sandwiches
i took my own

Thanks for the info, angel! That 2nd break sounds good. I think I'll be needing it by then! That rice better not be reheated and fried...! Maybe I'll take my own food too.

Ok, sorry for this stupid embarassing qn. But, how are the washrooms? I mean, are they adequate in number? For the other Steps, it's not really an issue, coz we're all on our own clock, coming and going as we please. But, if ALL candidates are on a break, there's likely to be a beeline to the loo! esp with all that stress thrown in......

never thought of getting a avtaar...i have a low "cool" quotient in these matters
washrooms were adequate at the LA center...yeh and thanks angel...god how my grey cells deteriorate!!

n they tell u before 5 min...tht u can go to washrooms
u dont hav to rush to a bathroom to book it firstits easily available

lol!! You've laid my fears to rest, guys! Never stand b/w a stressed gal and the loo..........I would roar and fight!! Anyway, I don't plan to be taking in much fluids on that day, I never do on exam days.
mukho, you're a kid doc, you HAVE to have a cool quotient! Peds is cool. And so are Pediatricians!!

Yes, there are two breaks, a 30 min break after the 5th case and a 15 minute break after the 9th.
They have enough restrooms, and pretty clean as well.
They have coffee, sweet/unsweet tea ( atleast they did at the atlanta centre)
They do have vegetarian food. I am a vegan as well and had no prob.
But I did carry a bottle of an energy drink and a few snack bars for the second break. I eat a lot when i am stressed

They didnt have chips at the atlanta centre when i took the exam.. they had a few cookies/ crackers, but no chips .. Dont think this should really matter though... if I fail, i'm gonna blame it on the lack of chips !

You are so funny  , I guess I will take my own food, probably energy bars and will take their water, I don't want to get sick from unexpected food  jeje  My friend told me that in Chicago center there is only 1 bathroom for ladies and one for guys, can you believe it! I better get a colon cleanse before
