Hi.
I have a question about the california letter.

I was reading the list of things needed to apply for the cal letter.
And it seems like you need a SSN and Step1, 2CK score.

I have a social security number. But haven't taken the steps yet.
Is Step score essential to apply for cal letter?

And how long does it take to get the cal letter once you apply for it?

Thank you.

You can apply now without scores.

But you get PTAL only if you passed step 1 and 2CK, scores must be requested to send directly from FSMB.

thank you for the reply Robin.
I am planning to take the steps soon..
but I heard that it takes quite a long time to get accepted for the cal letter.
So I am applying for the letter now.

How long exactly does it take to get accepted?
and once I get the letter and the step scores, how long does it take to get PTAL?

What is the difference between "medical licensure for a graduate of an international medical school" and "PTAL".
To apply for "medical licensure for graduate of an international.." requires ECFMG certificate/status letter, and for "PTAL" requires step1,2CK scores...
I am confused...
