I found this in UW: 6th week of pregnancy Asian woman,asymptomatic, 12mm induration on PPD.Next step: I would have gome for start Isoniazid but UW says do chest Xray.Do you'll agree?

i think if there is an emergency chest Xray cud b done if the disease cud be harmful to both mother n child females are covered with lead aprons i suppose n then their baby is protected wat are the other choices in question?

Isoniazid with pyridoxine is one choice and rifampicin,isoniazid and ethambutol were the other choices worth considering.Reassurance and routine antenatal care can be ruled out I think.

yes, for asian people PPD>10 is considered positive...so one must go for CXR to rule out active tuberculosis, one CXR radiation exposure doesnt hurt pregnancy......so if it comes out active then whole anti-tuberculous treatment n if not then INH+pyridoxine is to be given
