hey i got my result yesterday and i got 81 (199).i m soo happy and relax,i wanan tell my story of this journey to step 1as well,l i was very very weak student of mbbs, i failed nearly every subject every yr,always passed in second attempt every subject in medical college in pakistan,graduated one yr later to my original class,over all i was not at all good enough to think for usmle,but i started usmle step 1 preparation,listening lecture and just keep on listening lecture like 7 hr daily,and revising with study partner online in night,first i complete all basic subject anatomy physio biochem,,,like 3 time and when i master those subject forward to patho then pharma and micro in last,,i was not good in reading at all so i was just listening lecture and made notes of dvd,this i did like dec 2006 to april 2008(16 month) ,,,give my 100%% in this 16 month,1 day holiday per week,i learnt completely all subject as much as i can,,,,,solved usmleworld with score of 58%...so i just wanan tell every one here that this exam is not impossible and no matter how much u did in mbbs,u can easily do this exam ,,only things matter is think for future,be psoitive,just focus on ur study,dont worry about pass and fail,i never set target for study,my focus was to just study 7 hr in library and give my 100% i was not jumping for achieving some target,just putting all my effort to learnt as much as i can,,,,, not touched umsle world in first 12 month i was only solving kaplan qbank whihc is like revision of our books and dvd,open uworld account 4 month back and did it subject wise all time mode and scored 58% ...............................plz dont panic for this exam,u can do it easily,do all the topic,dont miss any topic,exam question will be easy and basic type ......
i did kaplan lecture notes, all dvd i learnt all 160 hr lectures thats all,i only solved uworld to practise but add uworld notes bc i believe kaplan lecture notes r more than enough and i passed so atleast u can get 81 if u r good enough in kaplan books......
now if i look my self 16 month back so i feeel very very happy after getting 81 on exam,,wanan thanx to all in this forum...

Congratulation , u did great , to hit 80 , then more .. now 81 ............ that is great , u study persistant & ur own best way .. that makes u success .
Glad to find some one love to study with listening notes again & again .
With that way of listening , u will b really good at st 2 since most tapes r expalin or read the books in better way .
Thnx for the sharing with ur true honest story .
Any FA u did , also any KME ?
Which yr , edition kap u did in lN , listening, or DVD ?

thanx for ur remarks,well i have old kaplan dvd like (yr 2000)...
lectures notes 2007,one of my study partner she was stutying in kaplan told me only immuno is all different,other subject its same as kaplan lectures notes r wirtten so u can easily simulate dvd with kaplan lecture notes,i did only kaplan lecture notes,
no first aid ,no goljan, believe me kaplan lecture notes is like a ocean ,if u do it all very very good u cant fail step1 ,this is my experience,,thanx alot every one for kindness and good luck to all

well kaplan lecture notes r like ocean,believe me if u retain it all and practice usmle world and be confident in real exam u can get 99, this is my opinion,when u will reach near ur exam u will know kaplan lecture notes is like ocean and its not easy to retain all of them

yes 100 percent
4...regarding anatomy,most qs wr from NEUROANATOMY???
mostly neuro anatomy question,,and gross anatomy mostly surface anatomy question
5....in physio,cvs nd endo wr major one???
now its more than a month so i m not sure exactly but i thnk its was from all region
6....major share of ur qs ws from PATHO???
in my case i think all subjects were balance but one thing is for sure that its ur luck whihc topic will be asked more in any subject but all subjects were tested
