Hi Forum members,
I am an old IMG and starting my mission today. finished with second reading and now doing my USMLE world MCQs. I took for 2 months and one month left. So for i only did 30% of MCQ in timed, unused random mode.
Today i am starting with the Genitourinary section and did all MCQ,s in timed, unused and got a score of 50%. will give a quick reading from kaplan notes and will listen to video too.
Tomorrow i will finsh the hematology section. I am hoping to finish the UWOLRD MCQ,s this way, section wise.
Hope some one will give me their valuable suggestion about my method of study.

so for finished with reading of genito-urinay + all UW MCQ
read the hemoncology section but so for only 10 question done--89 more to do today
Tomorow i will start respiratory system;;
actually my baby got colic-- couldn,t study at night..will try to finish the hemoncology and resp question by this weekend.
Need some support and encouragement--
Love to know some one who is studing with a baby.

 .....moms r all around me except me is this a season for every mom to take exam or wot????? 
hey, i can understand that its pretty hard maintaining both the things together....but i m not d good person to advice u on this but if u can see, there r so many moms in the forum, who r studying with kids n doing pretty good so just dont get discouraged, it would be hard but u ll do it.......

i finished with the reading of resp from Kaplan notes and did some 60 questions from the USMLE-- today started with reading of neurology and am doing question simultaneously. My score is not good so i have to clear my concepts.

Wow , you are doing great.. i have 2 kids ...81/2 and 71/2....hope you saw my last post but with little baby you are doing really well.....keep it up. You are an inspiration to rest of us......trust me......keep it up girl

my long weekend gone----
today read 10 pages of neurology and the UW questions were very hard.. so am finish reading the kaplan notes ( neurology adn will do the neurology questions tomorrow

just fighting with books
dint study anything over weekend....it just went by...so was frustrated
but now ok....studying.. doing obs gyne....kaplan qbank started yday....
did only 20 ques of obs
wud read book first today and tomorrow and will do qbank dayafter
will report u!!

Thanks for visiting, -- last 3-4 days were very down, couldn,t concentrate at all.. distracted with other stuff..
Trying to make use of my weekend so started around 930 did some neurology questions.. am tired now..
Neurology seems boring to me so by 1120 i am tired...
Do let me know how the Kaplan Q bank is going....
i think i will simply stick tol UW--- don,t have stamina or time to do kap...
Keep it up i know yolu will get very good marks..... 99

NEUROLOGY MCQ,S DONE
saturday and sunday ---cleaning and cooking... kids are home so no school anymore but they keep me busy whole day...
88-18 = 70 days left
so for 50% uworld done in 2 weeks finish the rest.. my subscription for UW is till 17th june. 2 block per day--- i have to speed it up. don,t know should i continued the subscription now or give some gap and get a new subscription for one month from ist of july.
My cumulative score is 40% now. if i continue the subsription i don,t know that further reading will give me the true ( not false positive) picture of my weak areas or it willbe a good idea to get a fresh start in july or fresh score...
so for finished neurology question..
I HAVE TO FINISH READING THE KAPLAN NEUROLOGY SECTION INSHALLAH

even i had so many ups and downs in my preparation....
my from today onwards i l be serious
i m doing GIT from IM....
did just one block of rheumatology so far from kaplan qbank....got 50%...nota good score...need to get in 70s or 80s if want 99
so i decided i l study theory thoroughly first n then do qbank....
so i l first try to have theory on my tips!!
i got kaplan qbank for 2 mths but i paid for 1mth....so i hav till july
they had some problem with their software so gave each one at tht time an extra month
report here daily whatever u do coz this will keep u consistent

Today i am as usual very low...
my little one is having diarrhea-- visited doctor-- viral gastroenteritis..
today saturday thought to study... don,t feel like to open any book or questions.
I pushed my self to do 30 question of IM,( electrolytes, unused, tutor mode) the did 20 questions from gyne obs.. only 10 days left for UW subscription and 1400 question..
no way i can do 140 question each day, so thought to do half of availabe questions from avaibale questions.. so 70 question each day.
after question i am tired it is 215pm may be i will do some more at the evening time after cooking.
Hope some one will drop by and say some motivational words

don't worry there are ups and downs. But keep doing qs. that is the most important thing. And memorize concepts from the vey beginning.
Mine is on 24th of this month. I am at the library. today finished Hemat and 1 block from kaplanqbank. Now i will review the wrong qs fast and if sometime left will start connective tissue disorder.

yesterday did 40 questions random, unused and timed today is sunday and so for did only 20 questions. Now have to go out for some fun.

Hi folks,
Hope everyone is having a wonderful study time.. i really need some push or may be some direction..
am an old IMG.. passed step 1 in 2005.. with a low score
mother of 3 kids, little one is 21/2 month old... have support at home
full time student
amy studying seriously for step 2 since sep, 07, got usmleworld q bank -- for 2 months but hardly finihsed with 60% of MCQ--- scored around 45%... very low score
I really need your help guys, please help me from where i should start my reading,
only used kaplan books and DVDs
thinking to revise in 25 days( 3 ( surgery) + 4 ( gyne) + 5 ( psychiatry) + 6 ( pediatrics) + 7 ( medicine)
then get the anothe one month subscription form usmleqbank.
i read the crush once
not sure shuould i read teh firstaid also.
hoping to get some suggestions from friends, please give me some kind of advice or share your experience, if anyone had a situation like mine... so i will feel that i am not alone in trouble.
