With the implementation of USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills (Step 2 CS) in June 2004, this January 31 date no longer applies. The date by which examinees must take Step 2 CS to have their results for the Match will be earlier. Although a specific reporting date cannot be guaranteed, regardless of the date on which Step 2 CS is taken, if you take Step 2 CS later than December 31, 2004, you are unlikely to have your results in time to participate in the Match Read the official announcement at: http://ecfmg.org/announce.htm#csmatch

I am just wondering ,how important is to receive ECFMG certificate by the date of any applied program's application deadline date.Do I have to receive it before to deadline or is it ok for me to receive it until matches.Do you suggest me to ask this situation to each program I am planning to apply ,or is it not important at all.I am going to take my CS in november ,and I am just wondering ,if is it going to be to late or not. Thanks

According to ecfmg.org/eras - Who is eligible to apply in 2005?ECFMG will accept applications for the ERAS service from individuals who have a USMLE/ECFMG Identification Number. You do not have to be certified to apply to a program. However, you must be certified to enter graduate medical education (residency).
