Hi I had my visa interview today,It went very well.Vo asked where I graduated and in what field I am in and the name of hospital. I submitted my original I 797 with the application and after the IV I requested the VO to have it back but she said once you have H1 stamped you dont need it. Will It cause any problems if having only H1 stamped on passport but not an original I 797 at port of entry to US? I do have a copy Your opinions requested

did you get your passport back. generally they tend to send it back with your passport. I have never been asked to show it at airport. I have it with me though.

Thanks. I didnt get my passport yet.Hope they send it with it. I talked to my lawyer and she was also of the view having a visa and copy of contract is sufficient to enter on H status, Now eagerly waiting for the passport to come back

I agree, as the embassy kept my I 797 when my other half applied for H4, and when I enetered US, i only had a copy of my I 797 and my passport ofcourse. They just looked at my visa, asked where i will be living in the city and stamped the passport. No other paper checks. Good Luck with ur residency
