So the issue is my Medical School Degree (MBBS Cert) states that I was duly conferred my degree on *abc* date. That is my grad date, my school records that only.
However, convocations take place much later in my college, sometimes cummulatively for many batches together and so the degree cert has a second date *xyz* below the signature of the vice-chancellor.
When I initially filled my ECFMG application i was asked for 2 dates, grad date--where i filled, abc and diploma date where i filled xyz...and everything was alright till now when ECFMG sends my status report to state board and mentions only xyz...saying it will mention only diploma date....state board is confused...my license gets stuck

I dont know if anyone else has had this issue, if so please tell me what should i do,

Both the dates are right and they are both there on my Cert. ECFMG says they send just one date and thats it, college says state board license asked for grad date and thats what we gave....I wrote all this to state board, but i dont know if this will be enough.

As a follow up, the solution is to beg ECFMG to talk to state board...and this absolute angel did so .... at least for the time being I am fine...god bless her!

I had the same problem, two dates graduation date and diploma date but I decided to use the one that is on the diploma, it is better....

so I have 3 dates with me...one when i finished internship, one when my MBBS was "duly conferred upon" me (this is mentioned in the text of my MBBS cert), and one of my convocation (the date my MBBS cert was given to me). The last 2 dates are there on my Med MBBS cert...now my graduation date is the middle one and will remain so in my Med school records forever so when in ECFMG i had to fill Grad date I filled that ( and would do so again) as to the diploma date, I filled the convocation date which created all this confusion...but ECFMG says that was the right thing to do...they said the state board has to be informed that the 2 dates dont match in some cases and that the grad date is also on record
I dont know which should have been filled, maybe the graduation date is the internship completion date and the diploma date is the one mentioned in the text of ur diploma...and the date on which it gets signed shouldnt be mentioned anywhere at all...i dont know...
Maybe someone else could ans....
But outcome is fine (till now!) ECFMG called and explained to my state board ...so can sleep in peace todaysmiling face

this is what i did. whenever they ask for graduation date, i wrote the date on my diploma. that is the date that you finished med school. it is different from the 'convocation date' or 'swearing date' or 'license date'. so indeed i also have 4 dates but the most pertinent is the one on the diploma. that is the one that can be easily confirmed by your school.
