common lore says step 3 counts only as long as u pass for getting ur visa. If u dont require ur visa and u are sure u will ace the exams it wont take anything away from ur application. I had good scores on my step 3 and was regularly told during my interviewers how impressed they were, maybe they were just being polite! But the other side would be if u scored badly will it badly effect ur application, I dont think so, but u never know. So if u get a really good score i personally feel it does get u noticed. same exam is valid all over. GL

anything above 90 should be good...for books chek other threads on step 3 preparations, mostly kaplan, swanson, FA and UW are used.. In my opinion u will have to ans for the attempt...a good score is interpretated as that u are academically bright, but CS talks about ur ability to interact with patients practically...so attempt in one might not be mitigated by scoring in the other...but of course as an overall candidate good scores are good scores! Just have a good reason as to why u think u had an attempt and how u worked around it and u should be fine. all the best
