Yes the answer is 80% if the patient smokes and it gets even higher the more and longer he or she smokes but for a non smoker with a coin lesion below 2 cm then the risk is only 50 %. A 2 cm lesion is called a solitary pulmonary nodule...what is the 3 cm lesion called?

yes it is just that u didn't mention how big it is....6 cm is humongous......hehe I guess it had to be cancer..... But i am sure that an incidetal solitary pulmonary nodule that means less than 2.5 cm has an approximate 50% chance of being malignant in patients >60 years of age ... then u bring up other criteria.... shape, site, calcification ...etc... to raise or lower the percentage....
