Sure Kalyann,

The documents I carried were,

1) HDFC receipt, Forms and Appointment letter. These will be verified outside Embassy building for completeness. Even though I had prepared a cover letter just as i saw it in one website, the VFS officials removed it from my file and said that it was not needed.

2)Visa letter, CS scheduling permit and confirmation letter

3)CK and S 1 details if u had taken it already

4) ur diplomas and CV and LORs all originals and i kept one set of copy also

5) Bank statements for 3 months, Tax notes for last 2 yrs, all asset documents everything from property to car

6) salary slips/ job details/ sponsorship letter from parents/husband

7) marriage certificate/birth certificate whichever applicable

8) the details of persons whom u r going to stay with there--an invitation letter from them, a copy of their status there, and an I-134 if possible. I kept a photo of them taken together with me when they last visited me here. it gives more credibility.

9)U r printed visiting card( it makes u more professional) and whatever extra certificates u got like BCLS/ACLS.....

10) and whichever documents that will help to proove whatever statements u make there. I cant specify bs individual cases vary right?

And of course ur PASSPORT and a most importantly a cool, friendly confident manner.

But even though i carried all these documents, surprisingly the officer didnt look at any of these not even my Visa letter.

Qs asked were,

1) Good afternoon sir-----good afternoon hw r u?

2) why u want to take USMLE?

3) have u done ur specialization?

4) have u taken S1? Score? S2?

5) I was abroad before....so asked Y I was abroad and y i returned?

6)Since I am married and my hubby is sponsoring me , details about his job and financial details were asked. I gave the officer his salary slips and sponsor letter but he didnt look at it and asked me to say roughly the amounts.

7) asked whether there is any prefered hospital where i wanted to do residency and i explained about ERAS and procedure of allocation of posts.

8) said my VISA IS APPROVED AND PASSPORT WILL BE COURIERED.

I said Thank u Sir dreamily bs i felt so happy and i knew hw bitter it is to hear that Im sorry ur application is rejected bs of so and so reason. I had faced it once before. I didnt even care even if it was one entry 6 months but God acted for me and it came out to be 10yrs ME.

thats all....my Visa Experience. Hope it helpssmiling face

Hey usmle topper2

It will be perfect if you can carry the original documents. If by chance the Visa counsellor asks for them then he/she will be impressed with them.
