Dear all, I've just started studying for step 2, due on November. I'm and FMG and I need your valuable suggestions regarding how I should proceed on my study, like what sub I should start with and how much time I should spend on each. What questions I shold go for? I'd highly appreciate your help with suggestions!

good luck to all with your study and exam. Wish that everyone can reach their goals!

U already have enough time for preparation.
I`d suggest to start with kaplan notes+dvds...Start with cardiology;docor fischer-the lecturer-will teach u usefull strategies for the test in addition to his fantastic manner that would encourage u.
Try to watch Those videos of IM,psychiatry,ObGyn and Epidemiology...U can do well without watching those of surgery and pediatrics;the guys just read from the notes.
This will be a good start for U I guess..Then Plan to do usmle world and use it as a studying tool more than assessment one.
After U finish ur prep with first reading and Questions practice with UW,Try to do the NBME form to assess ur level and readiness as well as knowing ur weak points.

BTW,first Aid(at least the 5th edition i`m using) is a very good revision book..U can use it while u r doing uw after finishing with kaplan.

good luck dear and feel free to ask what u likenod

Egyusmler, thank you so much for your suggestions. You are just wonderful! Infact I also started medicine Cardiology, feels like I'm on the right trackwink Do you think I should go for the blue-prints for peds/surgery or any other subjects? Besides first aid, what other books should be studied? Is there any audio lectures/ lec notes from Goljan for step 2 ??
Wish you all the best !

Nupurdoc,Dont pay much time thinkning ab notes and books.Choose one source,Stick to it,try to undersatnd the ideas and concepts.
Look.. U can use kaplan notes,Blueprints, tronto notes...etc.But what is more important than studying is to practise questions.
Again, active studying(i.e. with solving mcqs)is much more important than just reading from a book and rereading from another one.

Let me outline the question banks and books most widely used, try to do as much as u can of these:
1-UW
2-NBME
3-Kaplan q bank
4-Kaplan q book
5-NMS review

Good luck and congratulations in advance for ur 99nod

Thanks egy, I got your point. as I'm studying all by myself I got puzzled by people saying about other materials. I've got kaplan notes and dvd's. Mastering those and do lots of questions should be enough. Thank u so much.
