Chances for 1 parent to be a carrier AND pass on the gene:
1/30 * 1/2

Chances for both parents to pass on the gene:
(1/30 * 1/2)^2 = 1/3600

I would solve this problem as following:
2pq=1/30
q=1/60
q^2=1/3600
