Hi, My scores are as follows: STEP 1 - 87 STEP 2 CK - 76 I am appearing for STEP 2 CS next month. What are my chances for a successful match? Should I try for observership, externship or research? If yes, could anyone point me in the right direction to apply for the same? These forums are really helpful. so many people taking time to help others. Thanks,

If you have a GC and you are a recent graduate, you will benefit from these two... Try to have any kind of USCE, but I have no advice how to get it... Research does not count as USCE, and you will not attain significant results doing research for a few month... Lastly, nobody knows your chances... Just do your best... Most of luck is created by successful interview on a very good english... GL

complete application with ECFMG certificate on september 1st will be the key in obtaining some interviews. The late you are, the lower get your chances. GC is definitely a plus and so is graduation year or previous experience in western country perferably UK for northeastern programs like OH, PA, MA and NJ. USCE helps tremendously for small programs also. Good Luck for the match.
