palpable breast lump in a woman with positive family history.no other findings.which one to do first
usg,mammography or fnac?

ok say her age is 26. if her age is 38etc then whats the criteria?

Normally, you should do an USS to determine consistency of breast lump if not certain from physical, otherwise do FNAC but if she were older woman, FNAC is indicated (positive family history).

according to uw if a person 35 yr with palpable breast lump with no other findings except for positive family history u should start with usg but according to nms its fnac.which one to follow?

there are 3 different protocols; based on starting with USS, another based on FNAC and the last one based on age.

Personally i think you should start with USS; if simple cyst, you aspirate and repeat Clinical BE in 4weeks; If lesion is complex or solid, do a mammogran and FNAC.

Now, if patient is above 30 with postive FH or post-menopausal, mammogram and FNAC is indicated.
