What's the trip of the papers? ecfmg send the papers to program...program to ecmfg? And ecfmg to us? I am a bit confused.....Can I make an appoitment at embassy before receiving the papers? Usually the embassy recieves you in few weeks so this might be a delaying factor... Or do they have a special office for people applying for J and they recieve you right away? These might seem silly questions, but if anybody knows please answer. Thank you!!!!

Nobody is forthcoming with the answer. The ECFMG is stating that they will take 4-6 weeks with processing but thats the maximum.What is the current time, no idea till today. Carmen77, u cannot make appointment without your DS-2019 at the US embassy. we will be eligible for Emergency appointment, so no worry about the appointment thing.The real bottleneck is the time ECFMG takes for processing.The paper takes the trip like this:-
Us(Urself)-TPL/Program-ECFMG-TPL/Program-Us(urself)

This is valuable information, thank you! I did not know that we are eligible for emergency appointment. When I was for visitor visa, after paying I got the appointment in 3 weeks, I think that's why I was so worried. In this situation even with 4-6 weeks processing I should be there on time.
I checked my status on oasis and I've seen there deficiency letter sent. Does anybody knows what is this deficiency letter?

Hi carmen77,
The ECFMG sends the letter of deficiency letter if there is something missing on the application. You can call the ecfmg or the TPL/prog and ask them about it.

Yes... I forgot to fill in the insurance company. At least I know they've riched my application. I will call pc to ask about this and then ecfmg. Thank you!

can u tell me exactly at which place I will be able to check my status on Oasis. As whenever I open it, on left side I'm not able to see any link about checking the status.
And secondly, can u please tell me how many days it takes for ECFMG to post the status of application after receiving of the documents and fee.

you have to pay 200$ to your ecfmg account. J1 visa sponsorship appears right under eras rods request at the bottom on the left.
Also they require that you update your profile with a us valid address.
In my case they started in 2 days, at status it shows - pending. but...I have this deficieny letter going on, I am not sure our cases are the same..It seems that I forgot this stuff............hope it will solve fast.

I talked with my PC and he sent it next day by overnight. Dont know why he was holding it back.
I all ready paid $200 fee. I too didn't fill the Insurance company, as I don't know the name. So I asked the PC to fill mine and then only send it.I hope ur prob gets fixed soon.

So the papers from ecfmg reached your pc without that information written? And now pc is sending this to you? I am not sure I understood right. Did you got on oasis any deficiency letter? Maybe this in my case is for another reason.....I hope this will solve soon.

I sent the filled application form to my PC and then he forwarded it after checking that it's complete to ECFMG. My documents reached Ecfmg last friday only. So Im keeping my fingers crossed now for processing. I hope it goes smoothly.
And one more thing that whether we have to give valid US address right now or after we enter US(As J-1 Sponspored Physcians). I'm in a fix about that as if I change the address now then it will be contrary to the mailing address I filled in J-1 Visa application. Do advise about it.

I do not know about the address.. I changed mine on ecfmg on oasis, but I do not remember what I filled on the tpl form.
Maybe someoneelse on the forum can help.
What I thought is ecfmg send our form to pc and then he/she fills it and send it to us.............I am getting confused.
Should I fill again that tpl form and mail it to my pc ???????

Listen carmen77 dont get confused pal.
The first we fill in the form and send it to the TPL for filling of TPL info in form 1 the section B.Then thr TPL sends it to the ECFMG for processing. And when ECFMG processes it then it will send the form to TPL and not to us. Its the responsibility of the TPL to send that processed DS-2019 to us asap.
Thats the way the J-1 application moves.
If your section B of the form1(J1 form) is unfilled then the ECFMG may send you the deficiency letter. Contact your PC about the details. Maybe he/she will help you out.

) Thank you! My program was nice enough to correct all the mistakes I have done on the process. And now the ds is on the way to them and then to me, I guess I am almost at the end of the road. ) I got panicked few days ago, I want to reach the orientation, cos if I don't then it will be a lot of running around for fingerprinting and all the stuff.
Mann81 you've bee very helpful, and also this great forum it was like yesterday when I was asking which books should I use for step1 I am so glad is over.

Congrats pal and Good Luck too. Which city you will be going to?
One question pal, exactly how many days it took for the issuance of your DS 2019 from the date ECFMG recieved your application? Also if you can tell on which date ECFMG received your documents.(If you feel that u dont want to mention it on forum then please PM me)
I wil be very grateful to you. As I'm in the same fix. I dont want to miss the Orientation as well as ACLS/BLS course. Kindly let me know.

My 2019 took less than a week to get processed by ECFMG. They sent it to my prog and then they were to mail it to me but I picked it up myself. For another friend of mine it took about 2 weeks for her 2019 to come. I paid my $200 online via OASIS cos that way I could send my application to the Philadelphia address. If you pay in anyother way you have to send your application to the NJ address. Read up the details on the ECFMG website
