hi
if we elicit tenderness on superficial palpation can we proceed wth deep palpation??
wouldnt that amount to 'repeating painful manoeuvres'???
and also can we percuss on such a pt?

If you elicit pain on light palpation skip deep and go to rebound and rovsings.... its important to show the pt that your not doing un-nessary test that could cause them pain..... if you need you can do ct-abdomen later in workup and get more info...
now if you have a bad sp...they may not let you continue futher after you do deep palpation and the rest of your abd exam may be incompleate.
