Once we are done with step 1 ,Step 2 ck and cs,what other forms do we require to fill to get an ECFMG certicate.How many days will it take to get the certificate.Will it be mailed to our postal address?If we get ECFMG certificate after applying to programs will it be be updated in our profile/sendto the programs directly?

last i heard, back when they mailed it as soon as u pass the last exam, they mail it out, my friend had gotten hers in mail b4 her ck score came in, but that was back when mailings were done, so now maybe when the emails are sent, if u have passed last one, they send certificate online now? but it will be wihtin the week, not more than that most likley..

ECFMG cert till last last mnth was being sent in hard copy by fedEx to ur postal address...the fact that is was issued to u wsa updated on OASIS and an email is sent when they dispatch it to the FedEx....as long as ur med creds are verified the exams u mentioned, docdoc9, are the only ones needed....they usually dispatch it within a day or 2 of ur scores being out and depending on where u are located u should get it in max 10days

Usually a week...Why do u need the hard copy...i mean why the urgency....the only thing u immediately need ECFMG for is applying to step 3, and there also u need just the date u were issued the cert, same as the date on ur oasis...all the best

Thank you mukho,I was asking all this bcos I might get my ecfmg certificate after sept 1st so I wanted to know how much time it will take to get ecfmg certificate bcos I might already be late in applying,And do the the programs get the updated status of ourecfmg certificate or do we have to wait to receive the hard copy

first of all u can say 'ecfmg certified' as soon as ur oasis shows the msg...secondly yes ur eras application will get updated automatically if u chose the release of transcripts option when applying thru eras and the programs u applied to will get the information (probably much before u get the hard copy) thirdly the profile page (where u fill ur ECFMG status) on the ERAS application remains open to editing thruout the season so u can urself also update (again u will need the date) and lastly inspite of all this it gives u a reason to write to ur program directors personally saying u are now ecfmg cert
So u should go ahead early if everything else is ready
