I am currently a student , done level 1 of medicine and surgery and I have 1 more year to go where I am supposed to take level 2 medicine and surgery

I am thinking of doing step 2 CS before the end of my next year like in the begining but I was wondering wether the basic knowledge I have in medicine and surgery will be sufficient for me to prepare for CS.

what do you think ? will first aid and UW will give me the suffiecient knowledge

I think you can do it. Your knowledge is not tested. It's your bedside manners that are tested. If you learn what's in First Aid and practice a lot, you'll be fine. nod

Hours and hours. Practice at least 2 or 3 times all the cases at the end of FA, check afterwards the questions you've missed. Practice to the point where you don't have awkward pauses and don't miss the main points such as draping, counseling, empathizing, etc. Then practice the PNs. When you are able to do a good CNS case, including MMSE and PE in 15 minutes, you're good! wink Then try a few exotic chief complaings, to check if you are able to improvise, to ask the basic questions such as "onset, progression, alleviating, aggravating, triggering factors, PAMHUGSFOSS".

You have to read the minicases mostly to know the differentials and work-up.
