i studied for step 1 for about 5-6 hours a day (excluding weekends) for 5 months. looking back, i think 5 mos was too long. if only i had the mental intensity at that time it wouldn't have run that long. mental fatigue got the better of me. im just glad i got more than 85.

paraphrasing andre agassi's statement - it's not the duration that counts, it's the intensity.

hi i am new to this group so i would be delighted if some one helps me ....i am just giing to start my prep 4 the usmle... i heard that it is better to read b4 one takes kaplan? is it true n what does the coaching consist of?how well should i know the subjects b4 i take kaplan?helppppppppp plz

our situations seem pretty similar and i really wish we figure a way out and get started wit the kaplan classes. bout studying before, i really think it helps and have started with anatomy today and am glad i didnt go in for the class straight. anyways we ll stay in touch and exchange notes on how we re doing and stuff. keep the faith. good luck.
