5 month old infant with lethargy, somnolence, hypothermia, feeding problems, and persistent jaundice. 7 days later he develops a hoarse cry and hypotonic muscles. the tongue is large and protruding, and an umbilical hernia is noted. Dx?

a. agenesis of parathyroid gland
b. congenital adrenal hyperplasia
c. maternal diffuse toxic goiter
d. thyroid hypoplasia
e. trisomy 21

I have hard time understand why hypothyroidism leading to jaundice, coarse voice, umbilical hernia. Could u plz explain? thanks.
