Hi, I'm still waiting for my score of CK and meanwhile preparing my CS on next Friday. Went t o a residency fair organized by the local med school. I'm very upset by the fact that most schools changed to a more strict limit on graduation year (less than 3 years) from 5 years. Actually I graduated 11 years ago. What are we IMGs going to do? Three years, not enough for you to have a green card, pass all the tests and have some money to avoid starving to death. Those programs are not best (family medicine, psychiatry, community hospitals). That's why they got on tour to present themselves.Even more depressed to think about how picky the other programs will be. What do you think?

Depends what you did in those 3 (5) years? If you worked as a sales rep for a pharma company, I think that you'll be in a worse position than somebody that practiced medicine, or did medicine-related research. Wouldn't worry too much.

yea. most programs are not very hard on these cut offs. they would look at the entire CV. But there will be a few rigid programs who won't take u even if u show them 99 99 99!

I did smoking cessation research in preventive medicine department in the same school.I thought it is the most related job from medicine I can get. Seems not that impressive. Anyway I'll try my best.Good luck to you all. It is getting harder and harder, isn't it?
