Has anyone done with j1 interview in India? What questions do they ask? My wife is on J1 visa and I have B1 Will this hamper my chance anyway when i apply for j1 visa.

As I posted in another thread, J-1s are sponsored visas and are handed out easily (as the sponsoring institution has the liability in case you mess up). Your wife's J-1 should make no difference. Then again, I don't know how the things work in US consular offices in India.

I am applying for J1 visa and I have doubt While filling DS-156 form, do we answer yes to a) Do you intend to work in US or b) do you intend to study in US ??

Hi dockamalkant,If your wife is on J1 why do you want to take J1.You can work/do your residency on J2.

But how long has your wife had J-1? If she will have to terminate her J-1 before you're done with your residency, you might be in trouble.

thank you very much , yes you are right my wifes residency will be completed 1 year befiore me and i even not applied for j2 yet. so that is why i m applying for j1
