That is exactly how I felt about the USMLE steps when I was in research - I wanted so badly to study for them, but never had time, because of some PhD PIs who worked me around the clock - literally. (with the exception of my last boss who was an MD and was great and even told me to make time to study for the boards). Now to your question about a class for Step 3 - why don't you take whatever class is close by in terms of time and distance, and afterwards take couple of weeks off from your vacation and study very hard USMLE World questions and than just go and take the exam. Hey, you already made it into residency - you've achieved what other people are hoping to get to one day... Always look on the brighter side of life !!!
