What is the drug of choice for a person with Social Phobia (he has a fear of public speaking)? -One question said Drug of choice is a beta blocker such as propanol. -Another question said the treatment of choice is an SSRI (paroxitine) either with or without CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy).

Thanks... Yes, thats right... I reviewed those questions again. The one with fear of public speaking ONLY is best treated with propanolol (beta blocker). The one with fear of public speaking PLUS other aspects of social phobia, like fear of going to the bathroom in public or talking to people at a party, etc. is best treated with SSRI.
