Alot of students/doctors use the Littmann III. I had one when I was a student but it was stolen before I was able to truly appreciate it. It is a little more costly than some models but in my opinion you pay for what you get when it comes to a stethoscope! Just be thorough and surf the web for the best possible deal. You will be amazed at the differences in prices. I am getting the Master Cardiology and I have seen it range from about $170 up to $245! Not to mention shipping and possible engraving.

i ordered it from allheart. A friend had recommended the site...i think any of the sites mentioned on the littman website shd be reliable...

PGI2 - go to any medical bookstore and you will find a wide range of steths on sale... If you are in NY - barnes and noble on 18th St has a medical section on the third floor - sells steths there... also NYU medical bookstore has a good selection (if i remember correctly it's off 33th st)
