Hi all,
I am an IMG attempting my 2nd time at the step1. I am studyign lotssss (13+ hr days) and am still borderline...I have done kaplan books, usmle world, goljan rr and audios, am doing kaplan med essentials right now. I am planning on taking the exam during the peak time...either may or june...along with the AMG's...is that a bad idea? (will it bring my score down?) ..and also..is it true that taking this exam in bigger states (new york, texas) gives better chances for img's? (random rumor i heard)...any advice on the above q's and on how I can improve my score in a month or 2 would be grrrrrreatly appreciated..plz respond guys..I really need this...thanks in advance!

Dont bother unnecessarily abt US students
Do u want no competition and be the sole winner of a race held for a single person ?
I bet u dont wanna. So chillax and do ur thing.

P.S. Any info you hear about some centers / time of year being better / worse than others is all hogwash. Don't be tricked in to a sense of security or anxiety. Focus on your goal, and with perseverance, you will achieve it!

Is the following true regarding grading:
You are compared to the batch of test takers for that day...and therefore if many ppl get a 90,99 etc...that will bring down your score? So it is not INDIVIDUAL effort that get's scored? Other ppls' performances effects your own when it comes to your final grade on this exam? This is really unfair if it is so..and is bothering me...if anyone has info plz be so kind as to share your thoughts! thanks again!

You are tested against the test itself. No, other candidates' performance has no effect on your score whatsoever. It's only your preparation that matters.
