i just gave my step 1 a few hrs ago
i have my cs scheduled for 7 june
will be studying simultaneously for ck
beginning this journal today
will start actual prep in 2-3 days
gotto buy first aid

i read uworld history taking except psychiatry today. i found first aid better in this respect , but it was such a huge list of q's that i found it daunting. did not read it fully. reading uworld was much easier. so now i will follow it up with first aid..
the idea from tomorrow is to divide whatever time i devote to cs equally between first aid and uworld

ok friends ,
today i will do psychiatry history q's from uworld and try one case in first aid , improvise on it till i complete the requirements in time , and then read the patient encounter from first aid to see what i missed
reading those general chapters just like that is not helping much
so i thought i must begin with cases
one today to begin with

Way to go milee , had frd done LA b4 , the center is ok , she passed .
Most difficult would b the pt notes since timed with clear hand writing which most of Doc did not born with that  unless u will type .

hi,
as long as the handwriting is decent then its fine.
but if u want to type then u need to be really fast with that.
on my exam day they had probs with the comp and everyone had to type!
so be prepared to write it out...and write it out well!

i think more than anything else its the timed practice that counts.
if u can do it comfortably within the alloted time frame then u should be doin fine.
the only time wen i feel u can sacrifice some question time is wen u need to make the patient feel more comfortable, because this is wat they'r testing here and questioning takes a backseat...so learning wat help to offer with specific situations is a great help.
learning to answer questions the SPs pose is imp too...they sure asked me a hell lotta questions!
And counselling at appropriate times is awesomely important.
So really its a case of sticking to a basic outline and recognizing specific needs in each case and then dealing with them effectively...
