In clinical settings genetic heterogeneity refers to the presence of a variety of genetic defects which cause the same disease, often due to mutations at different loci on the same gene, a finding common to many human diseases including Alzheimer's disease.

Bhaai if the genes afftected is a tumor suppressor like p53 which can cause N no of tumors. Then there is MULTIfactorial causes of tumors. What we have to get is that they are talking of is Li Fraumeni's.smiling face

Besides that the only othe MOST likely answer wud be Variable expressivity. Even though everything is correct to some extent.

Point is u have to understand that still sreasearch is underway so pick what u are comfortable with and MOVE ON! sticking out tongue

BHen u r imply that Multifactorial Inheritance is Leading Cause of the Pattern of inheritance in the scenario provided. but the point is that Multifactorial Inheritence Cant be the same in the all the generations thus implying this syndrome as familial hence the only thing left is that Either u Chose Variable Expressivity or Anticipation. Variable Expressivity doesnt make sense cos they r getting the Cancers but at a much younger age.

Khair Like U Said U want to Move On. SO LEts wink

yeah,

its multifactorial inheritance ,which explains so many different disease in same family.fo all other explanation the characteristics are realted to only one disease pattern.

eg,variable expression means variability in severity of same disease

anticipation, again same disease but early onset of symptoms with increasing severity

genotypic heterogenecity ,same disease but different expression of severity between different families, not in same pedigree
