Should one do the anterior chest examination in sitting or lying down position?

I always thought it would make more sense to do it in sitting position as then you can quikly go over to the back as well.. But I was just watching these videos (which i have been told are UW, but I am not sure) and they made the patient lie down to examine his anterior chest..
