I have my old EAD that is vali till 30th JUne. I ahve applied for new one and they have received my application on 9th April.
I had applied earlier as soon as my husband's ji renewal came. and they had received my application on 2nd April but due to fee issue,I had to submit again.
I will be starting my residency in July,but waht if I don't reecive new EAD before that. We can get interim EAD only after 90days if application is approved. That wil be after 9th July. Anybody had the same situation and have any idea what to do in this situation.

If you don't get the EAD, you have to wait for completed 90 days after receipt of your application. This means you will have to wait till July 9 for sure in case you don't receive your EAD. Universities' international centers tend to wait till completion of 90 days before they will give you letter for appointment with local BCIS office for interim EAD. There is a good chance that you will have to wait couple more days after 90 days for interim EAD to complete the process. Now for future, I would advise you to file for EAD early enough to avoid this issue. Evenif your spouse's J-1 renewal is not processes in time, you can send out your application and add the DS-2019 later. The application receipt would show an earlier date this way for you to be safe. Make sure you are sending the correct fees and BCIS will accept your application with incomplete documents.
In case you really have to wait for EAD, you can request the PD for considering first 15 days vacation or a 15 days late start. I wish you the best.
