There are some good tips but most are resorted to common sense. The bottom line is personal statement will not make you or break you and your objective is present yourself as a normal person. I know for a fact that some programs use it to screen mentally unfit individuals, so try to make it long and not too flashy bc you want to be remembered as the guy with the awesome CV rather than the dude with the PS.
