I was just wondering if all these forums ( in general, not specifically p4u), make people a bit lazy. I am often faced with a problem, an answer to which I could easily find just by referring to a textbook or by a quick google search, but I end up posting it on here ( given how easy it is to)And, very often, the info/ replies you get back are incomplete and/or unreliable

Ofcourse, these forums are a great resource for everyone and even such 'unnecessary' posts can be of some help to someone nod not doubting, at all, the usefulness of forums like prep4usmle (especially).. Just some food for thought here.

But havent we all come accross some posts that just dont make any sense and are full of ****.. raised eyebrow

If I can, I try to help people with what I know and is with good intentions.
Also some people re just plain evil and will give a bad informationconfused
Now is your job to make sure is accurate the information.
If soomething I have learn is that by general rule people are egoist and selfish but from time t time you find people that are truly angels and will just want to honestly try to help you.

In general, I think most people are lazy. Or lets say human beings evolved or were created in such a way that they tend to burn the least amount of power possible grin

So, forums do not make people lazy. People are lazy in the first place. And forums happen to be good tools for lazy people!

Anyway, forums are reliable and very useful for somethings and are unrelaible for others and I think this should be obvious to all of us. For example, forums are good for finding personal thoughts and experiences while they may not be as reliable at learing scientific facts.

You want to know what others think about FA? chech the forum. You want to make sure of a scientific fact that you were not sure about? check the text book.

An other funny thing is when you see how lazy people are even when using these forums! instead of searching for the answer in the forum ... they make a new thread with out a second thought ... and dont forget the ones that just read and dont write nor do they contribute at all ... pure laziness!
