Can anyone tell me what are the chances of getting J-1 visa waiver for non-primary care specialties after the training, like pathology? As far as I know the waiver is given only for working in underserved areas in primary care specialties. Is it possible to get the waiver if i fininsh training in Pathology?

Hi! I attend two –year program at a school. Last year, I got J1 visa with “two years residence requirements on my visa”. I went back last summer and apply for new visa to the same program (same sponsor), but I got J1 Visa with “two year rule does not apply” on my visa now. My employer wants to help me get H1B visa, but do I have to serve the two year requirement or I am not subject to it? Thank you very much Lee.

A lot more difficult. Some states do not even have non-primary care waiver programs. lf
