I just got my Ck scores today ..it is 84 . My step 1 score was also 82 . I tried so hard to score higher this time .But I failed . I graduated in 2003 . And cleared step1 and CK in first attempt though with a very low score . Planning to give ck by june and then step 3. I have no USCS except doing an observership with a doctor in his chamber . Searching for a research job badly. I have green card ,I don't know if would help or not to get a residency .

Can anybody please advice me what are my chances to get any interview ? I'm ready to go any remote places. I'm so frustrated. I wanted to to try for Internal medicine . But I think it will be very tough with a score like this.sad

Please anyone have a good piece of advice what can I do to get a match ..

i'd advise you to go check out low score experiences on this forum, i'm sure u'll find lots of success stories, mine is one of them too...ur scores are pretty good, i had 76/84/ passed all 1st attempt & i managed to get a prematch so u also can do it but u'll have to work for it...nobody can tell you teh hances of getting the interviews but u can improve your chances by doing something extra & becoming an example for the new comers in this forum!!

BEST OF LUCK!!

I wouldn't even say you have low scores, may be average scores. My advice and experience is scores are not everything. Try to get good USCE, apply early and widely. You will make it. Good luck!

GC is the best thing on your resume. It will change the spectrum of interviews you get.

your scores are average. I agree with MD in08's advice.

I agree with MD in 08....do go check out Low Score experiences in the forum...mine is one of them, 83/85/passed all 1st attempt(Tried way hard in Step-2 CK to improve my score like you but alas!), got into Categorical IM in match.

The Green Card is going to improve your chances like anything. One of my friend got 5 IM Iv's+ 6 Psychiatry Iv's on 76/78+GC. You can well imagine your chances if you apply judiciously by thoroughly researching the programs.

Good Luck

Those scores are average and a big plus is that you pass them in the first attempt......I would rather have low scores in the first attempt that average scores in a second or third attempt!!!
Your graduation year is also another plus and the GC.
With those cores what you need is something extra to drag the PD attention. Find any USCE and work for LORs (Stronger the better!!!)
Have all your scores ready and all your documents scanned ready by september 1st.
Apply the on that day and wait for IVs
