If a scenario of post op pt (on clindamycin with watery diarrhea) seems that of clostridium difficile/psuedomembranous colitis, whats the next step in dx? 1) stool culture 2)id toxin in stool 3) microscopic stool exam

ok thats what i will pick too, but i read that if microscopic exam (looking for C diff) is the choice u should pick it over id toxin in stool as not every place or hospital can do this test. this is open to discussion, anyone can post their reply with reasoning

you're right, but I met this type of Q when I did Kaplan CD and it said that C.d. toxin in stool is the best choice
