Hi guys, I thought about making a thread to help each other to find USCE. I am not going to pay to any private company to do my homework so how to start looking for USCE.

I spent almost the whole day in FREIDA, trying to find any information about extership/observership in their web-page in Michigan and Illinois but there is no specific information.

Help, how did you do this?

I started calling the Mayo Clinic because they just have posted clerkships for students, asking if they have observerships/externships for graduates and they do. They will send me the application package by e-mail and also I started to send e-mail to the doctors I know. We will see what happens...

Good luck niksmg!

They are friends, american doctors in some of residency hospital.I finish my obsev, because now i need to make some money. This observ. free, they even take you to lectures, etc.I do not promise but i could try to send you info like CV,letter of interest in Peds or Neuro, etcc. One of them pick me because he likes non standart letters. So if someone want to try ,you are welcome studyhard4@gmail.com

Good thread, Ivonne. For me, the observership works out by friends. So far, only one at hand even though I asked over 30 friends to provide me with any connections. I also contacted my previous boss who is a neurosurgen, my other previous boss's collegue who is a pathologist. It seems like something is going on, but I am hoping it will turn out to be a real opportunity.

Keep searching and keep asking around, you will get one. GL.

In florida you can do what they called a mini residency, but you have to pay for malpractice insurance and pay them for that. Is about 4 weeks.

In jackson memorial hospital have that.
Hope this helps
