now, i read this and answered parkinson, but ans says huntington's, why is it not B, but A?? thanks!

parkinson wouldnt have dementia. also, the family pattern is autosomal dominant pattern.

Remember patient in the 40's that is when hungtinton starts most of teh time and is AD

And description of movement hyperkinetic dystonic (chorea, athetosis) is indicating Huntington rather than parkinson. parkinson will have as we all know tremors, rigidity, bradykinesia.

ok, thx so much, that's wat was getting me, i thought that the tremors that are in parkinsons' could be described as hyperkinetic movements, but appreciated very much, thx for taking time!

lol... i cant see the q too....may be hottie forgot to post the link........but i remember the q..........its huntingtons......."chorea/athetosis" for someone in the 40 s .......thats the key , parkinsons people have trouble starting movements, so wont have chorea athetosis..........rest all could be in other diseases too......also remember "anticipation" "suicide" "AD" "caudate nucleus" "GABA" are other imp clues, specific for huntingtons (not given in this q though)
