# middle 1/3 Rx---> figure 8 band # Distal 1/3 -----> OR-IF 19years old boy gets injured while playing rugby. X-ray shows displaced middle clavicle # (displacement was biiig). how do u treat? Conservative?? ORIF??

first rule out subclavian artery n brachial plexus injury.....if nothing then just brace, ice n rest, i guess no need for surgery.............any other opinion???

Severely displaced mid clavicle fractures need surgical fixation (ORIF). I googled it.

even if you have a severe displacement,the tretment is conservative. only a brace. the indications for surgery are : vascular or nervous injury,an open fracture or an inminent exposure. or a gun shor fracture.
