how long does it take once we've filled out aplication, is it same like step 1 or 2? i thought maybe different since going thru FSMB, please inform as i want to take step 3 before mid-july but didn't know how far in advance i need to apply, thx so much for u help!!

as long as ur creds are verified by ECFMG, it take about 10 days from teh time ur notarised ID form reaches them...at least that how it was in my case...hope it helps

yes it does, thx so much. do u mean ecfmg certified rite like when that certification comes after passing everything, then i can apply? and notarize an id form? is that available on FSMB site?? thanks!

yes on the day u get email from ECFMG saying ur ECFMG certified, u can apply (its coz u need the date u were ECFMG certified to fill in the application) after completing the online form u have to take a print out of the ID form and get that notarised, yes its on the fsmb site.....good luck

hey thx so much!! and then i can only apply under those certain states rite, since i'm not in residency? but i can take it in any state? or how does that work? this always confused me a lot...

nope u got it absolutely right...u'll have to apply thru the states which dont require residency, conneticut for some reason being the usual choice, but u can take the exam from anywhere and it is valid everywhere...

Here's my experience if it can help anybody: Applied online for Step 3 - April 11 (Friday) CIN sent overnight - received April 14 Application approval email - April 21 Step 3 permit available on Candidate Website - April 24 about 2 wks from application to permit.

sweet, thx so much!! that gives me good idea, and how long after u got ecfmg certified to apply? i plan to do it immediately afterwads so i have it done, but didnt know if that has impact on timing of passing application, and so u dont sign up for 3 month period right or do u?? i had heard u dont, and as soon as u apply, u get 3 month period and take it during that time frame?

sorry guys but i don't understand a few things...... 1.- can i take the 3 without been in a residency? 2.- what if the state where i live have yhat requirement (be in a residence)? 3.- do they have a limited period of time once your aplication has been aproved? thanks
