what is the next step if we find a solitary thyroid nodule on physical exam---TSH,T4 or FNAC?

In kaplan q book (peds qs) the answer was FNAC. I got confused. But, I agree with both of you. Thanks.

soltary thyroid nodule+===>TSH-increased---look for causes of hypothyroidism(hashomotos), TSH ----decresed---------RAIU---------solitary nodular/multinodular TSH ----Normal-----FNAC

according to step up to medicine fnac is the initial test of choice for evaluation of a thryoid nodule.infact it is the best initial test for all solitary thyroid nodules except in thyrotoxic person. in cmdt its usg for incidentally discovered nodule ..in emed its fna/tsh according to diff articles.. now can some1 give a correct protocol for approaching a thyroid nodule?
