Hi All,
I am planning to give CK in May '08. After listening kaplan lectures & 2 reading of kaplan notes my UW timed score is ~45%. I have done 30% of UW. IM/Peds/OG & Cardio/Respi/Heamt-Onco are casualties. For next 1.5 month,shall I reduce/ stop solving UW & focus on reading kap material, as UW solving Qs & analysis is taking too much time? I cannot finish even all 46 Qs on time. I can put 6 hr/wkday & full wkends only for study.
I think reading notes can give more points than UW explanation in lesser time. Its hard to balance Qs& reading.
Let me know any tips at this stage.

Hi Sam,
My exam is on jun 1st wk and im also doing UW nw. It is a casuality for me too. and i freaked out and even thought of stop doing UW and shift to Kaplan or some other Q bank. But all the experienced people say not to quit UW, reading again and again is good but read only what is relevant. and that relevant info is what is given in explanations in UW. so i stick to UW, yea it is really time consuming, im only able to do 30 Qs a day with explanations.

Thought i was the only one having this problem.Am trying to read and do UW cos am on my second read,but its excuriatingly slow.the explanations are awesome though.

Thanks for reply. It is well to know that there are other people in same shoe as I am in. But this time is such critical thing, need to balance betn UW & Kap. I hope I'm balancing it well. Good luck.

Guys, I'm on the same boat. I'm averaging 58%, and I've been through about 18% of the material on USMLE World. I think you should stick with it and only review your week areas from the Kaplan Notes. We have to master the technique of question solving. You will get the hang of it. From what I have heard people start that way on UW and then get better at it. But if you don't get better just make sure you learn the material. I don't think the real test is that hard. They make it hard on UW to help you tackle step 2 when it's time to take it. My test is also at the end of May. Good Luck

hi guys, same here, my exam is also in may n today, after doing GUT que from UW, feeling so frustrated .....cant decide that should read from notes n solve the que or should stick to uw que only...but how to improve in que only when they r not even repeating the que, each n evry next que comes with new concepts
i tried to stick to que but i wasnt improving from 50-55% even after completing 30% of ques.......then tried doing reading first n then subjectwise que , ofcourse that improved littlebit but around 60% not more than that, i cant understand where am i lacking............i guess, que solving method???????? wot to do?????????

I can't help you to solve the problem you have cause I'm beginning study and I don't even buy the books that I need but just want to say.........DON'T QUIT..........
Maybe is a hard way but is the only way to pass it. I know you can do it. Stay calm, take a deep breath and GO ON

hey guys,.. i too am feeling sooo frustrated with these UWorld q's.. i've done abt 35% of them.. and still cant pass the 60 % mark!! im averaging around 50% but there were a few blocks in the low 40's which made me run out of the library! i dont know what to do.... im feeling demoralized and unsure of myself.. i was planning to give it in may but looking at my results seems like i might have to push it further!!
