Well, first of all you are lot younger than most of us old grads. However, with very good credentials you didn't match twice and it makes me freak out a little (for your sake and mine too since I am applying for the second time ). I am not BBB but I would reconsider the process at this time. May be you need to apply widely and in more than one specialty if you haven't done that. An externship or an observership in a teaching hospital may help. Try to get hold of someone already in residency or familiar with the process and try to brush up your IV skills. Infact this is my plan for 09 match and hope you will find it useful too. best of luck.

work on your interview skills. You have good credentials on paper. How many interviews did you get?

This is what I did about observerships. Went to Friedaonline and got the phone numbers and email addresses of hospitals in travellable distance. Called and emailed all of them and got positive reply (i.e we offer observership) from 2 places.

Hello Mounika! I am sorry that u didnt match. Ur application looks gud. Did u get US lors from 6 mnths observership? Was all the six months at the same hospital and if so did u get an iv there. As for another observership i will say it mite be difficult to get one, if u restrict ur geographical location. U have spent lots of money and energy in applying, so try harder for observership. Every program wants observerships and ofcourse lors from dt , these days. And also every applicant tries hard to get observerships. Go to Frieda and check atleast the programs on north east, u will find some programs offering observership. Apply to those, u will get loads of negative responses but u will be able to find some place. Gud luck.

Excellent creds, congrats! I am 2003 grad, matched in 2nd attempt with avg creds in IM. Good luck, have your letter writes call or email for you. That shd work for sure. Do more USCE. You will match for sure dont worry. Just get more USCE and more LORs from americal docs. GL.

If you assume yourself as an old graduate, what will we do as a graduate in 2001 without any step score? But till now i completed ent residency in my own country(Turkey). I took course for flight surgery and i am certified and worked for 2 years as a flight surgeon. Do you give me any chance? I know that to be an ent specialist for img in states is nearly impossible. That is why i still try to find best easy branch suit for me, but still culd not find. Maybe sleep medicine or allergy..... I wish you luck . Do never quit or lose your faith.

why in the world would you reject a prematch if you had already gone through one match where you did not match

I graduated in 1999 and Got a prematch I think for Old IMG´s it is better to grab a prematch that going to the match, statics are awfull almost half of IMG´s didn´t get matched (and this includes young fresh graduates!!!!) Of course Im not saying to grab a prematch if you do not like the program but from my experience this was my first time in the match and I am sure that because I grabbed the offer Im going to start residency next july......

If the application happens in 2008, I think 2005 is still OK.
