Is it necessary to have your AAMC id in subject line of the letter ?

I was wondering about the same thing as hitesh. We don't get our AAMC IDs till July 2008 (correct me if I'm wrong) and they want the documents sent to ECFMG by August. That's not a whole lot of time to give to your letter writers to write and mail your letters to ECFMG. I'm just thinking that I should not waive my rights to see the letters, get them early and then mail them myself along with my other documents.

It is absolutely normal even if you dont have ur AAMC id over it. You get it when you register with ERAS. Among many LORs that I had, on some I used AAMC id and on some I used my ECFMG/USMLE id ( before I had registered with ERAS). When you waive the right to see LOR, your letter writer send your letter directly to myERAS, they work along with ECFMG. GL.

Thank you for the inputs guys. Thank you lost-in-usa for clarifying on the issue. I guess, its a good idea to have your ECFMG / USMLE id on your letters when u dont have an AAMC id yet.. I am gonna do that

And, if you ever participated in match, or once you are registered with AAMC, the ID stays the same although every year the registration has to be made for every other match season.
