Please someone shed light on this. Is it mandatory to have a social security number to apply for Califorknia letter? Can we get a SS number while on F2 VISA? Thanks.

hi bacteriophage and applicant09.... i still cant get it.... i am an img who needs a visa... i just wanna know if i can apply for PTAL(california letter) provided that i am not a green card holder?...guys, please answer me

no u cannot apply for ptal unless u hav SSN
SSN is only given to those people who legally work...
as u r on F2 ur visa doesnt allow u to work so no SSN
for dependents only J4 works....not F2 neither H4
